USS James E. Kyes (DD-787) Association

This year, the USS James E. Kyes Association mailed a Christmas card to all shipmates who attended the 2013 reunion in Colorado Springs, CO. and also to all persons who have contributed to this website since its creation in 2011.

The front of the card contained the below artwork. The card contained the following message:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The USS James E. Kyes Association extends a holiday greeting and wishes you "fair winds and following seas" in the upcoming new year.

The artwork on this card was created by Commander Walter Stephens. He flew numerous types of Navy planes during World War II. During his admirable Navy career he went on to become the Commanding Officer of the Kyes in 1958. He was an honored guest at our 2013 reunion in Colorado Springs.

We took the liberty to add a Christmas tree and some lights to his impressive artwork (thanks to Photoshop) to celebrate the festivity of the season.
