Subject: VA claim settled - Gerald (Jerry) Wilson USS Kyes crewmember 1966-67

Hello,

I wanted to let the crew of the Kyes know that I have just received word that
my appeal of the original decision on the claim regarding my husband
Gerald (Jerry) Wilson has been reversed.  I have received notice that my claim
has been established.

There is no doubt in my mind that the statements from the crew of the USS
Keyes that were written at the 2014 reunion were, gave the tremendous weight
to my appeal.

Additionally, may I say that the emails I received from them were touching and
greatly appreciated.

As part of my appeal I obtained copies of the deck logs between September 1966
and December 1966.  I would be very happy to make these available to any of
the crew or their family members who are pursuing a claim with the VA.

If it is possible to notify the crewmen of this, I would be very appreciative.
